Why DIYO exists

Ready-made clothing asks you to find yourself somewhere in a size chart. Going to a tailor asks you to describe, in words, a garment you can only picture. Both leave you negotiating with someone else’s idea of what you should wear.

DIYO removes both problems. You pick the silhouette from sketches drawn by hand, pick the fabric from swatches we sourced ourselves, and see the finished garment rendered before a single piece of cloth is cut. Then we stitch it to your own measurements. The creative decisions stay with you; the craft stays with us.

Who makes it

DIYO was started by a tailor’s daughter who grew up in and around a stitching workshop and went on to train as a fashion designer. Every sketch in the catalogue is hand drawn, and every fabric in it was hand-picked and sourced by a NIFT-trained designer rather than bought as a bulk lot.

That is also why the catalogue is finite and deliberately so. It is a set of silhouettes and fabrics we know behave well together and can actually make well, not an endless feed.

How a garment is actually made

Once a client approves a quote on WhatsApp, we source the fabric for that design, cut it, and stitch the garment in-house. It is checked, then dispatched. Nothing sits in a warehouse and nothing is mass-produced, because each garment only exists once someone has asked for it.

Making to order takes time we cannot compress away: 15–20 days to make and dispatch, and another 3–8 days in transit. If you have a date, tell us on WhatsApp and we plan backwards from it.

What we are not

DIYO is not a marketplace and does not resell other labels. We hold no ready-made stock, do not take bulk or uniform manufacturing work, and do not alter garments a client already owns. We make single made-to-order pieces, one client at a time — that limitation is the whole point.

Design something of your own

Designing is free and needs no account. You only pay once you have approved a quote.
